Colouring of Natural Stone
One of our FAQ's include the colouring of stones. The colours shown in all photos on this website should be taken as indicative. They are as accurate as photographic processing and computer monitors allow. We recommend that decisions on a specific colour of stone should be made from seeing the actual product. If viewing samples, we recommend viewing a wide range of pieces in order to get a true picture of the stone. Tonal variations and shades are evident in all natural stone products. No two pieces of natural stone are identical. These subtle colour variations, markings and texture in natural stone add interest and life to a finished project. When mixing two packs of stone we suggest that stone from each pack be mixed in order to get a similar colour throughout the pavement. After laying, some natural stone products may exhibit a brown coloration when oxidation of any iron content.
